Since people have asked, this is a serious song, but it has an absurd topic. I pictured it as a song in a 90s kid’s cartoon.

LYRICS:
Electric Cat Disco
the cats are watching us
we will watch the cats
I wish the cats will dance with us
will you dance instead with me, man?
Electric Cat Disco
Chorus: Electric Cat Disco (8x)
Chorus: Electric Cat Disco (8x)
Come and shake your tail
The cats, they have evolved
they now dance better than we
We’re just pale ghosts in the night.
Chorus: Electric Cat Disco (8x)
Will you leave the dance floor with me please?
I have cats at home
We can feed them treats
Then they will purr.
Chorus: Electric Cat Disco (8x) Chorus: Electric Cat Disco (8x)
MWD NOTES: Since people have asked, this is a serious song, but it has an absurd topic. I pictured it as a song in a 90s kid’s cartoon. (That also inspired our other song “Death of the Author.”)
Keywords: virtual singer, Alter/Ego, Plogue, Marie ork 2, Alys
Michael W. Dean wrote to Phil Wormuth: Since you said this song’s rough draft sounded “too disco” and you don’t like disco….I DID “disco at you”, sort of as a joke, then realized it worked. I made “Electric Cat Disco” sound MORE disco because you said it sounded disco (I thought it sounded like post punk / dance, a la New Order, not Disco, like Dianna Ross or Bee Gees).
So I added bass drum throughout. Kinda made the song really work. But I did that because you said it sounded disco.
And it worked. And because the author of this song is now dead, that doesn’t matter, and the song works better, so it’s all good.
