CREDITS
All composing, playing, voice, engineering, production, mixing, mastering, cover art, and solar photos by Michael W. Dean. None of this music is AI. I’ve been putting out BipTunia albums since 2017, before that was possible. And my ego is too big to take credit for something I didn’t make.
NOTES:
Four songs on this double album are 12-tone serialism, and 12-tone serialism adjacent. They use 12-tone rows but are not strict proper 12-tone, I learned the rules to break them, but it’s more “serial-inspired” or “post-serial” than textbook dodecaphony. Some utilize “super-rows” (row chains) of multiple 12-tone rows in a row, then treated as semi-standard from there. There are some inverts, reverts, plus both, but some free use of all.
The four songs are:
“Ding Dong, Stockhausen Is Dead”
“Barlow Bortle Binning Bias Bahtinov Bayer Broadband Backfocus”
“She’s My Dummy Load”
“Live Witnessing Wiggling Active Region Filaments”
“She’s My Dummy Load” is also microtonal it’s in
diaphonic 12a
(2nd 12-tone Diaphonic Cycle, conjunctive form on 10/7 and 7/5_
Also, this song starts at 455 BPM and ends up at 1 BPM.
“Barlow Bortle Binning Bias Bahtinov Bayer Broadband Backfocus” sounds microtonal, but it’s not. It just has some very out of tune parts, intentionally.
In Krist Novoselic’s 2021 blog post praising my old band Bomb, he says that I’m now “a sober libertarian / electronic musician (Including some 12 Tone composing)”

I told him “I do microtonal, not 12-Tone…that’s like saying Nirvana’s a blues band.” Actually “Nirvana’s a blues band” would have more truth, technically. He didn’t correct it (he’s a busy guy, and I’ve made it true now.)

Words for “I Successfully Cheated The Universe” from the novel “Starving in the Company of Beautiful Women” by Michael W. Dean (2000, Kittyfeet Press, link https://amzn.to/3TW0rjm )
TITLE NOTES:
“Ding Dong, Stockhausen Is Dead” title is because he praised mass murder.
“Sucker Punch Park”, title from Bean Von Beansteen, formerly bass player of Helios Creed.

“Hydrogen-alpha – So Hot Right Now!”, song title came from a comment by u/ScienceForge319
That person was making a double entendre about one of my solar photos, but is also obviously referencing a line in Zoolander.
A Dummy Load is a radio technician term. It’s a thing you plug a powerful transmitter into to use test gear on the antenna without broadcasting. It produces heat (and a tiny bit of radio)
If you run a powerful transmitter without an antenna or dummy load, it fries the transmitter pretty quick. First one I saw, at a ham radio operators home, looked like the paint can one on the Wikipedia page.

Dude, I got the album and listened to it. Fantastic, as always.
Your music is different. I can’t describe it, and I don’t know enough about music theory to know if your experiments are “good” or “not good,” but I like the end result, and in the end that’s what really matters.
Keep cranking it out!
Happy to help!
I’ll do it as long as I can. And apparently I still can pretty well and reliably.
