That song has drums, bass guitar, synth bass, 3 tracks of electric guitar, 2 tracks of acoustic guitar, two tracks of piano, two tracks of organ, and each of us doing 3 tracks of vocals.
Fun fact; Krist Novoselic was going to play accordion on this but he got too busy. “Cousin Krist” is mentioned in the song though.
LYRICS AND CHORDS:
Well, Nancy and Billy they were friends
from Whisperin’ Hills Trailer Park
way back when
It wasn’t ideal … living amongst them many wheels
You got what you got.
It was good enough for Iggy Pop
Well some things move and some things stay same..
In Whispering Hills it’s always been that way
Sometimes it’s the trailer,
and sometimes it’s the park
You’re clutching your light walking in the dark
Nancy and Billy well they kept their spark
in the Whisperin’ Hills Trailer Park
When they turned 19 they cashed in on their dreams…
they tied them knots and they bought cheap rings
Moved out on their own
to a nice used trailer home
Straight as the crow flies
40 miles from their past lives
It’s a doublewide Gentry,
born from the second hand
and it’s all paid off on 5 acres of good land.
Sometimes you get what you get
then you dig right in and make the most of it
Planting our future on our own plot
who says you can’t take the trailer out of the park
Billy got a good job digging wells all around the county
dug one of his own, two-hundred feet from the Gentry
Nancy keeps the house, soon the baby will arrive
Cousin Krist helps out when he stops on by
OUTRO / END CHORUS:
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park
It’s hard to find your way with through people crowded in the dark
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park.
You need your land around your home to grow the spark
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park
It’s hard to find your way with people screaming in the dark
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park.
You need your space around your life to build your ark
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park
It’s hard to know with too many people livin’ in your pockets
The problem ain’t the trailer it’s the park.
You need room around your life to hold her heart

Wow, man!
Instant classic. Great lyrics, great melody, conjures up all kinds of visions/movies in my head when I listen to it. I’d love to see a filmmaker use this tune in a movie, for sure.
A departure from the Biptunia stuff I also dig. Much recommended!
