“Twilight Soundscapes for Cat Dinner Bell and Crickets”
\nWe have this heavy steel \/ copper pan we use to cover the cat food outside during morning and afternoon to keep birds from scarfing it. When we remove it around dinner time (and “open the cat cafe”) we clang it, Bandit usually hears and walks up to snack.<\/p>\n

It’s noisy \/ clangy, but kind of musical.<\/p>\n

I hit it and recorded it, around twilight outside, you hear a clang, then crickets in our yard. I made that into a sample for “Pretty Good Sampler.”<\/p>\n

First thing you hear in this song is as it really sounds at the real pitch. The rest of the song is 4 tracks of it played with an MPC just as MIDI imput. (One track has an effect I made, “Orion Ring Mod”). Plus the song has some drums, synth bass (“Sine” preset on Pretty Good Sampler), and strings (“Strings” preset on Pretty Good Sampler).<\/p>\n

It’s kind of harsh, but I kind of love it.<\/p>\n
