Pretty Good Sampler<\/em> from BipTunia Synths is a free VST with a brave new approach to sampling. Ditch the dusty, tired old looping rut of the past 50 years! Set your samples free. And sample length? Unlimited.<\/p>\n

Easiest polyphonic sampler you\u2019ll ever use. It\u2019s the follow-up to our previous VST, \u201cStupid Simple Sampler.\u201d People really liked that but asked for tuning capability, and we\u2019ve added it, both rough and fine tuning.<\/p>\n

It barely touches your CPU. Here\u2019s Reaper with Pretty Good Sampler<\/em> in on 8 different tracks, plus 2 tracks of drums, plus compressor, EQ, reverb and a little delay on every channel. Total use is STILL below 0.1 percent of the 64 GB of RAM!

FOR BEST SOUND, add a dash of light, fast compression after this VST on the same channel. Sprinkle in a little bit of reverb, and season with EQ to taste, or use none. Toss in a splash of delay, if you\u2019re feeling adventurous.<\/p>\n

Comes with a new loop-back saturation circuit (defaulted low) that throws in a pinch of resonance and harmonics. Your samples just sound better.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a 64-bit Windows VST3\u2014drop-dead simple and a blast to play. Comes with an on-screen oscilloscope for trippy, useful visuals of your sound.<\/p>\n

Pretty Good Sampler<\/em> can handle any WAV sample\u2014mono, stereo, at any bit depth, any sample rate. Only 7 controls, including the file picker. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Control 1: Pick your sample. We threw in 16 originals, but load whatever you want.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The other 6: Two for tuning, plus A, D, S, R (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release). Skip \u2018em if you\u2019re lazy\u2014they\u2019re optional sauce. Crank D, S, and R for infinite sustain, or nudge A for a vibey, bowed violin feel.<\/p>\n

The new tuning sliders let you wrangle any sound\u2014music, nature, whatever\u2014into your track\u2019s key.<\/p>\n

Included Samples: Bell, Bounce, Meow, Sine, Strings Synth Claxon, Burp Meow, Clink, Space Gas, Synth Falling Down Stairs, Synth Float, Synth Growl, Synth Tingle, Synth Vibro, Synth Wav, Worms. Pro tip: Sine works for bells or gut-rumbling bass.<\/p>\n

The zip has a folder of presets and a short bit on installing them, though the sampler will work without them. They’re just to get started.<\/p>\n

INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong>: Download<\/a>, unzip it, drag the whole folder (sub-folders and all) into your DAW\u2019s VST spot. No clunky installer\u2014those are more trouble than they\u2019re worth. Includes a short step-by-step manual, if you need it.<\/p>\n
