For the VST3 of Microtone 5000, if you have it working but don’t see the 128 presets, then also go to “How to use PRESETS for VST3 Microtone 5000″<\/a> to download the presets and learn to install them.<\/p>\n

For everything else, or if you can’t get that one to work at all:<\/p>\n

BipTunia VSTs<\/a> are made in the programming interface called SynthEdit. These VSTs only run on Windows.<\/p>\n

TROUBLESHOOTING:<\/p>\n

If you have trouble running (or accessing the presets in) the VST3, try the VST2, and vs versa. VST3 requires 64-bit Windows.<\/p>\n

Before you get mad (a lot of people are impatient with tech support for their FREE synth software, even if they caused the problem), remember I’m one guy and I lose money and especially lose a lot of time doing this, and doing free tech support, including in the middle of the night sometimes<\/p>\n

If changing from VST3 to VST2 or vice versa does not fix it:<\/p>\n

\u00a0Did you just do a normal install, i.e. unzip the zip and dump the whole folder with all the sub folders intact into your VST folder as directed, right? And you didn’t do anything like move one subfolder from my main folder to another folder or outside the folder?<\/p>\n

Very important! Did you put my whole unzipped folder into the SAME folder where your other VSTs are? Some DAWs expect that the presets are subfolders of that same folder. A lot of VSTs have installers for this, but I find that in general installers cause more problems than they solve, unless the person is a total beginner with computers. (not saying you are, but that’s my experience.)<\/p>\n

If normal install and using Windows, and you put the unzipped folder into the correct location:<\/p>\n

If my VSTs won’t run at all<\/strong>, go to https:\/\/www.synthedit.com\/downloads\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Go to “Other downloads you may require” and install the .NET 4.6 from Microsoft.<\/a>
\nIf still trouble, install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages from Microsoft<\/a> (get Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022<\/a>), note you’ll have to pick the one for your processor, Intel or AMD.<\/p>\n

Restart your computer between attempts.<\/p>\n

If the VST opens, and you can get sound, but you cannot access the presets (most common issue), try this:<\/strong>

In some DAWs you can make and save presets you make for your VSTs, Google that for your specific DAW if you don’t already know how.<\/span><\/div>\n

I show microtonal tunings in each screen but the tuning is irrelevant to the patch, you can use any tuning with any patch. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some of those screenshots were made before I finalized the VST. After those shots were taken I added the P2S switches on top right (with red LEDs), you can ignore them for recreating these presets.<\/p>\n

I added a “very fine depth” slider on the bottom left, you can ignore that to recreate these presets.<\/p>\n

On the top right IN SOME OF THEM there is a now-removed slider called “ADSR filter”, ignore that and just use the ADSR in the middle top, which is in all screenshots.<\/p>\n

I renamed a couple of the top right sliders from a few of these screens, but it should be easy to figure out what’s what.<\/p>\n
