This was driving me nuts. I reinstalled, cleared cache, reset Firefox (hassle to come back from), tried Safe Mode, and about 15 other things. None fixed it.<\/p>\n

Answer is arcane, but easy.<\/p>\n

Problem is you have Kaspersky anti-virus. It has a bug (or “feature”) where if you don’t have their browser extension, you get problems like this, and often, specifically this maddening problem.<\/p>\n

To fix it you have to uncheck “Inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages” in the network settings.<\/p>\n

(which I don’t recommend adding the browser extension, This is an ABSURD amount of permissions to give anything. Some of it makes sense, some of it a smart person wouldn’t give their best friend:

\nAccess your data for sites in the \u201cnamed\u201d domain
\nAccess your data in # other domains
\nAccess your data for a specific site
\nAccess your data on # other sites
\nRead and modify bookmarks
\nRead and modify browser settings

\nInput data to the clipboard
\nExtend developer tools to access your data in open tabs
\nDownload files and read and modify the browser\u2019s download history
\nOpen files downloaded to your computer
\nRead the text of all open tabs
\nAccess your location
\nAccess browsing history
\nMonitor extension usage and manage themes
\nExchange messages with programs other than Firefox
\nDisplay notifications to you
\nProvide cryptographic authentication services
\nRead and modify privacy settings
\nControl browser proxy settings
\nAccess recently closed tabs
\nAccess browser tabs
\nStore unlimited amount of client-side data
\nAccess browser activity during navigation
